DJ Rob Rocks The House

Just before Michele Obama put Villa Padierna on the world tourist map in the most spectacular fashion, I djed at another wonderful wedding there. My role that day was to play the music during the blessing, music during dinner and then ROCK THE HOUSE at the end.

Tony Manners and Jayne Cavers’ big day was always going to be memorable after Tony walked down the steps of the  Amphitheatre to AC DC’s ‘Highway to Hell’. Luckily Jayne had chosen more traditional, and more beautiful music, for her arrival. 

Later, after a great dinner, where I played background music handpicked by the couple, the band Shamrock took to the stage. They rocked the multinational crowd superbly with their mix of rock and soul and pop classics.

I have to be honest and say I had a few minutes behind my decks wondering if I could follow them ok and a long, long  think about what song to play first. I needn’t have worried, the boys in the band had softened the guests up, and Mickey Dolenz and the Monkees have never let me down before and they didn’t this time. Tony and Jayne had chosen some music for me to play that was exactly what their guests wanted, including rock, pop and one or two of the latest dance tunes. I just added more music in similar styles and the house ROCKED out from the very first bar of I’m a believer to the last note of the last encore.
